• SCA Packaging Research will use FlowMac in mill studies, closure of the flow system and solve problems with accumulation of COD.
• Facultad de Químicas, Universidad Complutense in Madrid is using FlowMac in process research, Paper Mill studies and training of students.
• Norske Skog Industriteknikk, uses FlowMac in many mills for process design and rebuild, environmental studies and also simulation of paper properties in Union, Skien.
• Valmet , Karlstad, Sweden will use FlowMac in a model of their pilot plant for paperboard to support customer trials.
• One FlowMac licence is supplied to thePaper Science department of the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, England, for modelling of white water systems of Shotton Paper mill. Dynamic simulations are included. A doctors degree by Emma Harris, was based on use of FlowMac.
• The University in Karlstad, Sweden, plan to use FlowMac in training of students in pulp and papermaking processes. Distance training is planned.
• Papirindustrins Forskningsintitutt , PFI,Trondheim, Norway i another user engaged in the study of pulp and paper mills as Peterson, Moss,Skogn, Norske Skog and Hönefoss. One model has been designed for the heat balance of a newsprint papermachine and its wet end.
• PaperMac is another tool for modelling of paper quality now implemented in FlowMac. Paper brightness, shade, stiffness, etc is modelled by Union, Skien, Norske Skog, to reduce amount of broke at a grade change. The simulation model can be accessed from the mill network by the papermachine operators. An yearly saving of MNOK 20 has been established.
• STFI-Packforsk AB one of the main resaerch institutes in the world. FlowMac is used for modelling of FEX, the pilot paper machine and the Aquavane project. Fractionation of stock is also studied.
